Two points are two points but...

Despite coming out with two solid efforts against the San Jose Sharks and Anaheim Ducks earlier in the week, the Edmonton Oilers looked poised to finish the road portion of the 2013-14 schedule in style on Friday night in Phoenix. Dallas Eakins’ side were a mere forty-one seconds away from pulling off the “perfect” road trip. Three games…three solid showings…but ultimately three regulation time losses.

Oil Kings make it look easy in opener

After making quick work of the Prince Albert Raiders during the 1st round of the WHL Playoffs, some were curious if the Edmonton Oil Kings might come out flat in their 2nd round opener against the Brandon Wheat Kings. Unfortunately for the visitors, Derek Laxdal’s crew showed absolutely no sign of rust over at Rexall Place on Thursday night

Another loss but the kids keep coming

Despite losing their second game in as many nights to one of the premier teams in the Western Conference, the Edmonton Oilers have to be somewhat satisfied with their play over their last couple of outings. While Dallas Eakins’ side did allow third period leads to slip away from them on back-to-back evenings, the fact this lineup was even in either of these games should be viewed as nothing but a minor miracle.

What a shocker.....not so much.

The Edmonton Oilers kicked off their final road drop of the season with the result most expected on Tuesday evening, dropping a 5-4 decision to the San Jose Sharks. While the scoreline may have surprised some, this one was actually close from to start to finish and it had absolutely nothing to do with Ben Scrivens…at least not in a positive manner.

Will Arco see regular duty in 2014-15?

There have been few bright spots in what has been an absolutely disastrous 2013-14 campaign for the Edmonton Oilers.

Power Outage

On Friday night the Edmonton Oilers used their fair share of bounces to edge the Anaheim Ducks by a score of 4-3 in overtime. Fast forward forty-eight hours and suddenly the shoe was on the other foot, as the New York Rangers had everything go their way in cruising to an easy 5-0 victory over at Rexall Place.

Which One Will It Be?

When it comes to improving his NHL roster, Edmonton Oilers GM Craig MacTavish will have himself a rather lengthy to-do-list this summer and upgrading his blueline will likely be at the very top of that list. Pulling off such a move won't be easy and in all likelihood, it will probably cost the organization one of Oscar Klefbom, Martin Marincin or Jeff Petry.
