Oilers History: The Jason Smith Years

Regardless of the sport, most teams are generally as successful as the talent an organization is able to compile over time and ultimately put out on the field of play. In the wake of the outstanding debut from backup netminder Nikolai Khabibulin on Saturday afternoon in Detroit, Devan Dubnyk continued to build on his stellar campaign with a standout thirty-nine save performance, leading the Edmonton Oilers to a 3-1 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets. The win snapped Edmonton's five game losing skid, as they return home for what will be a crucial five game home stand.

Oilers don't need a trade, they need production from their top six

To say the Edmonton Oilers are in a bit of a free-fall mode would be putting it nicely. They are currently riding a five game losing skid, having scored all of seven even strength goals through their first eleven games of the season.
