Siemens stones Oil Kings on Curtis Joseph Night

On a night in which the Prince Albert Raiders paid tribute to former Edmonton Oilers netminder Curtis Joseph, it was the Raiders current puckstopper Luke Siemens, that stole the show against the Edmonton Oil Kings on Friday evening. Siemens made thirty-seven stops, including a Cujo style stop in the dying seconds, securing Prince Albert's come from behind 3-2 victory over the defending WHL champions.

Hall and Eberle combine for three goals in Barons win

Edmonton Oilers forward Taylor Hall has always been a player that generally finds a way to make an impact in every game he plays. Not surprisingly, Hall did exactly that in his AHL debut, scoring on his opening shift of the game and later being assessed a match penalty, for a crushing hit he delivered late in the third period. Jordan Eberle had a pair of goals, including the winner, and Justin Schultz picked up yet another assist, leading the Oklahoma City Barons to a 4-3 victory over the Houston Aeros.

Heading into what was supposed to be the start of the 2012-2013 NHL campaign, fans of the Edmonton Oilers were eagerly awaiting their first opportunity too see their club's newest batch of talented youngsters, in Justin Schultz and Nail Yakupov. Unfortunately, the NHL Lockout has deprived them the right of watching the pair do their thing in the Oilers Orange and Blue. Oilers Hall set to make his AHL debut in OKC

It has been a long time since Edmonton Oilers forward Taylor Hall has suited up to play a National Hockey League game. While he will not be suiting up for Oilers this Friday night, he will be making his long awaited return as a member of the Oklahoma City Barons...playing alongside more than a few familiar faces. It will be interesting to see how Barons head coach Todd Nelson decides to deploy his latest edition, to what has quickly become a star studded OKC lineup. One thing you can be certain of, is Mr. Hall will be raring to go.

Oil Kings win another and move back into top spot

Apparently all the Edmonton Oil Kings needed to turn things around was a little home cooking. With yesterday afternoon's 5-1 drubbing of the Vancouver Giants, the club finished their five game homestand with four consecutive victories and now sit alone atop the Central Division standings...one point clear of the Calgary Hitmen. Netminder Tristan Jarry was rock solid, in making twenty-nine stops, and earning his third victory of the season.

Schultz nets two more in Barons 4-3 win

Will this is getting to the point of being almost comical. With two more goals in the Oklahoma City Barons 4-2 win over the Texas Stars, Edmonton Oilers prospect Justin Schultz has now scored six goals and collected twelve points in the Barons first seven games. Centre Ryan Nugent-Hopkins chipped in with two more assists upon his return to the lineup, while netminder Olivier Roy made twenty-seven stops in backstopping OKC to their fourth win of the season.
