Trading Places

While fans of the Edmonton Oilers would love nothing more than for the organization to upgrade their roster prior to the start of the 2015-16 National Hockey League season, many would prefer if they could accomplish it without parting ways with fan favourite and former first overall pick Nail Yakupov.

  1. that is ridiculous trade. Ellis is to small and we don't need any small players. Nail is a tank for his height and will be adding man strength soon. Nail after eakins got fired showed well. Time for east media to watch the player instead going on rumors

  2. Clearly you have not watched Ellis play. His size isn't an issue and Ellis is an absolute beast on the power play with a canon of a shot. Underestimating other teams players, while overestimating players who where Orange and Blue is never a good idea.

  3. You are putting to much value on the PP. rarely do you get more than 10 minutes of PP per game so what do you do him the rest of the game. Ellis is 24 Nail is 21. Lots more time for Nail to grow now that eakins is gone. Potential is higher with Nail. Not going to sell low

  4. Seen Ryan enough to say he is NOT enough of an upgrade. Nail should get a pass due to eakins poor handling on his development and confidence. When you look at Nails first 48 and then his last 35 games he showed lots of raw talent that we don't have in our top 6. We need to aim higher if we are going to trade a 1st overall. Ryan is at best an average NHLer and only able to excel in certain situations.JMHO
