Oilers Roster

Will post full lineup as soon as it is made official Tuesday morning but it looks as though Ales Hemsky will make his debut on a line with Ryan Smyth and Ryan Nugent - Hopkins.

** Update **

Things have obviously changed, as the Oilers coaching staff have decided to put together a first line of yesteryear and the first line of the future as the top two units for tonights game against the Coyotes. Look for Nikolai Khabibulin to go the entire way tonight but Renney hinted there is an outside chance of Yann Danis possibly seeing some action.

Line Combos

Hemsky - Horcoff - Smyth
Eberle - Nugent-Hopkins - Hall
Tyrvainen - Belanger - Jones
Green - Lander - Keller

Defence

Gilbert - Sutton
Fedun - Smid/Potter
Petry - Chorney

Goaltender

Khabibulin
Danis

** Update **

Roster Cut Down To 35

As expected, the Edmonton Oilers made a bunch of cuts following their weekend home and home set with the Calgary Flames. The team announced that the following 11 players were assigned to the Oklahoma City Barons:

Philippe Cornet, Curtis Hamilton, Tanner House, Milan Kytnar, Ryan Lowery, Ryan Martindale, Tyler Pitlick, Alex Plante, Olivier Roy, Kirill Tulupov and Chris VandeVelde

Martin Marincin was also sent packing back to his junior team, the Prince George Cougars of the WHL.

Injury Update
  • As expected, nothing new on the Sam Gagner front to report. That could change tomorrow but more likely on Wednesday
  • Ryan Whitney took part in practice fully but still remains a question mark for opening night. He did make it clear that he would really like to play an exhibition game before the regular season...if he isn't ready in time perhaps he gets a start down in Oklahoma on a conditioning stint?
  • While ColtenTuebert practiced with a red "no contact" jersey on, he should get the green light to get back on the ice, barring any setbacks, by Tuesday at the latest. "I felt good today. I feel ready and I'm just hoping to get into a game," Teubert said.
  • Ben Eager still remains on the shelf and his "minor concussion" seems to be a little more serious then the doctors first thought.
