If the Oilers win, Hall will become the man

It seems as though no matter what Edmonton Oilers winger Taylor Hall does out on the ice, it is never quite good enough for many across the hockey world to give him his due as a player. He is on the verge of becoming a top ten NHL scorer for the second consecutive season and yet all we ever hear from the mainstream national media, is how he isn’t anywhere near as good a player as “x,y and z”.

The meaningless wins just keep coming

While the Edmonton Oilers have come out with four consecutive solid efforts against teams either comfortably in or battling for a playoff spot in the Western Conference, it has been the play of the opposition’s netminder that has ultimately handed Dallas Eakins’s side back-to back victories.

Oil Kings Poised For Another Memorial Cup Run

With yesterday afternoon’s 3-0 victory over the Brandon Wheat Kings, the Edmonton Oil Kings sit six wins shy of reaching their third consecutive Western Hockey League Championship Final.

Two points are two points but...

Despite coming out with two solid efforts against the San Jose Sharks and Anaheim Ducks earlier in the week, the Edmonton Oilers looked poised to finish the road portion of the 2013-14 schedule in style on Friday night in Phoenix. Dallas Eakins’ side were a mere forty-one seconds away from pulling off the “perfect” road trip. Three games…three solid showings…but ultimately three regulation time losses.

Oil Kings make it look easy in opener

After making quick work of the Prince Albert Raiders during the 1st round of the WHL Playoffs, some were curious if the Edmonton Oil Kings might come out flat in their 2nd round opener against the Brandon Wheat Kings. Unfortunately for the visitors, Derek Laxdal’s crew showed absolutely no sign of rust over at Rexall Place on Thursday night

Another loss but the kids keep coming

Despite losing their second game in as many nights to one of the premier teams in the Western Conference, the Edmonton Oilers have to be somewhat satisfied with their play over their last couple of outings. While Dallas Eakins’ side did allow third period leads to slip away from them on back-to-back evenings, the fact this lineup was even in either of these games should be viewed as nothing but a minor miracle.

What a shocker.....not so much.

The Edmonton Oilers kicked off their final road drop of the season with the result most expected on Tuesday evening, dropping a 5-4 decision to the San Jose Sharks. While the scoreline may have surprised some, this one was actually close from to start to finish and it had absolutely nothing to do with Ben Scrivens…at least not in a positive manner.

Will Arco see regular duty in 2014-15?

There have been few bright spots in what has been an absolutely disastrous 2013-14 campaign for the Edmonton Oilers.
