Your 2014 Memorial Cup Champions!!!
Hate to say I told you so but after watching the Edmonton Oil Kings get by the Val-d’Or Foreurs in the fashion they did to reach the 2014 MasterCard Memorial Cup Final, you just got the sense this group of kids would not be denied.

Oil Kings: One win away
To say the Edmonton Oil Kings have had a rather eventful week in reaching the 2014 Memorial Cup Final would be understatement. After opening the tournament with a disappointing 5-2 loss at the hands of the Guelph Storm, everyone inside their dressing knew reaching Sunday’s finale wasn’t going to be easy.

2014 Memorial Cup: Time for Jarry to step it up
In the grand scheme of things, the Edmonton Oil Kings 4-3 double OT loss to the Val d'Or Foreurs at the 2014 Memorial Cup may not turn out to be that big of a deal. If the Guelph Storm can manage to knock off the host London Knights in Wednesday’s round-robin finale, in what is truly a nothing game for the OHL Champs, than Edmonton’s inability to closeout Val d’Or was ultimately meaningless.

2014 Memorial Cup: So far, So good
While the opening weekend of the 2014 Memorial Cup may not have gone exactly how the Edmonton Oil Kings had envisioned, head coach Derek Laxdal had to be more than satisfied with the resilience his players showed over their first two games of the tournament.

Game Seven: The Bounce Back
It almost seemed fitting that Game Seven of the Western Hockey League Final between the Edmonton Oil Kings and Portland Winterhawks would be decided at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum. After all, it was the very building the original Oil Kings called home after relocating to Portland, Oregon following the 1975-76 WHL season.
