Oilers drop another two points on home ice
Over the last three seasons, the Edmonton Oilers have put together the worst home-ice record in the entire National Hockey League. This was supposed to be the year they were going to start putting up wins at home. If the first their first three outings on Rexall Place ice are any indication, they still have a long way to go.

Dubnyk > Budaj...at least he better be
After struggling through the Edmonton Oilers opening two
games, Devan Dubnyk was rightly given a seat at the end of the bench during
Monday night’s game against the New Jersey Devils. While Jason LaBarbera picked
up the “W” against the Devils, he looked just as shaky as Dubnyk had during his
first two appearances of the season.
Jarry continues to stumble as Oil Kings fall to Silvertips
The Edmonton Oil Kings continued their early season struggles on Wednesday night, dropping yet another game on home ice, falling 4-2 to the visiting Everett Silvertips. Defenceman Matt Pufahl and forward Joshua Winquist did all the scoring for the Silvertips, while Cody Corbett had both goals for the Oil Kings in a losing effort.

Give me Braydon Coburn not Jake Gardiner
According to TSN's Bob McKenzie, the Edmonton Oilers may be interested in adding a top defenceman to their backend and hinted at Toronto Maple Leafs blueliner Jake Gardiner as a possible target. With all due respect to Mr.McKenzie and the Leafs talented youngster, when exactly did Gardiner start being referred to as a "top defenceman"?
Oilers are deeper down the middle than most think
Heading into the Edmonton Oilers season opener there were those who were quite critical of Edmonton Oilers GM Craig MacTavish and his decision to not "upgrade" the centre position within the organization. Even before the freak injury to Sam Gagner during the preseason, many felt the eventual quartet of Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Gagner, Boyd Gordon and Will Acton would simply not be good enough to compete over a full 82 game schedule.
RNH doesn't miss a beat, leading Oilers to comeback win
Now that is more like it. After both the Edmonton Oilers and New Jersey Devils skated their way through a less than invigorating opening forty minutes during last night's tilt at Rexall Place, the Oilers decided to take their game to another level over the final fifteen minutes of play.

Time to start winning games at Rexall Place
It has been so long since the Edmonton Oilers last posted a solid record on home ice that one must go back into the record books and see when it actually occurred. It was the 2007-08 campaign in which Edmonton put together a solid 23-17-1 run on home ice, in large part due to Mathieu Garon and his mastery in the shootout.

Another wasted trip out west
From the standpoint of a single game going as bad as one could imagine, last night's 6-2 pounding at the hands of the Vancouver Canucks was about as bad as it could get for the Edmonton Oilers. Starting with another poor performance from netminder Devan Dubnyk and finishing with what was arguably the worst game of Taylor Hall's NHL career, Edmonton were never really in this one.
