Should the Oilers target the Blues and Bouwmeester?


The St. Louis Blues were hoping the addition of defenceman Jay Bouwmeester, would help push Ken Hitchcock's team over the top during the 2013 NHL Playoffs. Unfortunately for them, that was not how things panned out, leaving the Blues blueline in somewhat of a precarious situation, heading into the off-season.

Teemu Hartikainen is on the verge of completing his third year of professional hockey in North America. He has steadily improved his all around game but has yet to leave any sort of mark, when given the chance to suit up for the Edmonton Oilers.

Button likely not far off the mark, when it comes to Hemsky and the Oilers


TSN analyst Craig Button managed to create quite a stir throughout much of Oil Country this past weekend, with comments he made to the Edmonton Journal's Jim Matheson about the possible trade value of the Oilers Ales Hemsky. While many in this neck of the woods hold the talented Czech's skill-set in very high regard, the reality of the situation will likely keep Craig MacTavish from getting any sort of quality in return for the veteran winger.

Oilers History: 1988 Stanley Cup Final - Edmonton vs Boston (Game Two)



Despite playing far from their best hockey during Game One of the 1988 Stanley Cup Final, the Edmonton Oilers still found a way to jump out to an early 1-0 series lead over the Boston Bruins. While the B’s were coming off an emotional seven game series win over the New Jersey Devils, Edmonton had lost just two games through the the first three rounds of the playoffs.
