Time For Pitlick To Claim A Roster Spot
The moment Edmonton Oilers general manager Craig MacTavish decided to bring Benoit Pouliot and Teddy Purcell on board for the upcoming 2014-15 campaign, Tyler Pitlick had to have been wondering if he had missed his opportunity to stick with the team that drafted him back in 2010.

The Quick Fix
As of this moment the Edmonton Oilers top six forwards consists of Jordan Eberle, Sam Gagner, Taylor Hall, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, David Perron and Nail Yakupov. That said, if we are to take general manager Craig MacTavish at his word and do a little bit of reading between the lines, there will be at least one, if not two, different names as permanent fixtures on his first two lines

UFA Market...here we come!!!
There is no question that the 2013-14 campaign will go down as one of
the most disappointing in the history of the Edmonton Oilers.
This was supposed to be the year the guys in Orange and Blue were going
to push for a playoff spot and instead they did nothing more than push
for yet another lottery pick.

Opportunity Missed
Zack Kassian became public enemy number one in the minds of many an Edmonton Oilers fan the moment he “accidentally” broke Sam Gagner’s jaw during a pre-season game at Rexall Place.

Bishop's departure = Oilers victory
For one of the few times this season, the Edmonton Oilers caught a couple of breaks and used them to their advantage on Sunday night, slipping past the Tampa Bay Lightning 5-3 at Rexall Place. Jordan Eberle led the way upfront with a pair of goals while Taylor Hall rebounded from a couple of off nights, picking up his 40th and 41st points of the season.

Just what the doctor ordered
It is funny how quickly things can change in the world sport. On Saturday night, the Edmonton Oilers left the Rexall Place playing surface to a chorus of boos following an embarrassing effort against the St. Louis Blues. Fast forward roughly forty-eight hours and the Oilers faithful were once again behind their squad, as Edmonton exploded for six goals in downing the Winnipeg Jets 6-2.

Gazdic has delivered exactly what has been asked of him
There is no question that Edmonton Oilers forward Luke Gazdic isn't everyone's cup of tea. While there are some who see a need for the inclusion of a player who engages physically and is willing to drop the gloves whenever necessary, others look at such players as nothing more than fourth line plugs that can't really play the game.

Two points they had no business getting
With a potentially embarrassing loss to the Calgary Flames staring them squarely in the face, the Edmonton Oilers used some fortunate bounces to their advantage in earning a 4-2 coming from behind victory against their provincial rival on Saturday night. A four goal third period explosion, due in large part to the play of Flames starting goalie Reto Berra, proved to be the difference. David Perron scored what turned out to be the eventual game-winner on a bad angled shot that Berra would love to have back.

MacTavish starts reshuffling the deck
It has been a fairly busy couple of days for the Edmonton Oilers organization. From the moment Taylor Hall left the ice during the second period of Saturday afternoon's 3-1 victory against the Ottawa Senators, general manager Craig MacTavish and head coach Dallas Eakins have been working hard at restructuring the Oilers current lineup.
