Game Day: Flames vs Oilers

Calgary (10-12-2) vs Edmonton (13-10-3)

Time:      8:00pm
Where:   Rexall Place
Watch:    CBC

Listen:    630 Ched

Projected Line Combinations

Eberle - Nugent-Hopkins - Smyth
Hemsky - Horcoff - Gagner
Paajarvi- Belanger - Jones
Petrell - O'Marra - Hordichuk

Don't look for the Oilers to make any lineup changes upfront for tonight's game against the Calgary Flames. With Edmonton, for the most part, rolling their four lines against the Blue Jackets, the Oilers big guns should be fairly fresh to do battle with their provincial rivals.

Defence Pairings

Gilbert - Smid
Whitney - Petry
Sutton - Peckham

The defence has looked much better of late and its no coincidence, that the turn around has taken place since the return of veterans Ryan Whitney and Andy Sutton. The two have allowed both Jeff Petry and Theo Peckham to play a much more composed style of game and because of it, the Oilers have played far less "fire drill hockey" in their own end. The Edmonton blueline should be ready to deal with a motivated Jarome Iginla. While the Flames captain has struggled all season long, he always steps his game up against the Oil.

Netminder

Nikolai Khabibulin

With Devan Dubnyk starting last night against Columbus, Edmonton will go back to the number one guy against Calgary. Khabibulin will be trying to lead Edmonton to their first set of back-to-back victories, since wins in Nashville and Minnesota back at the end of November. The veteran netminder should be rested and ready to go and I would expect nothing short of another solid performance from # 35.
